They supply your skin with much needed vitamins, minerals, amino acids and moisture! They help you tan 50% more effectively than using no lotion. This is because the lotions gives the skin a base to tan on instead of its bare natural barrier.

This depends very much on the lotion you use, your current colour and the type of skin you have (check out our skin calculator). The average person can develop a base tan in 3 to 5 sessions which can be maintained with regular moderate sunbed use combined with the use of skin moisturisers and tanning lotions.

If looked after properly a tan can last for much longer. Normally though it takes 2-4 weeks after the last sunbathing session.

You should wait a minimum of 48 hours before your next session. Once you develop your base tan you can reduce sessions to once or twice a week depending on how dark a tan you want.

The insides of the arms and legs do not tan easily. This is due to the fact they contain less pigment-forming cells. Freckles contain a high amount of tanning pigments this is why they always go darker quicker.
